At Hello Health Coach, we believe that health is not just the absence of disease, but a state of complete physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being. We strive to help our clients achieve this state by providing personalized coaching that addresses all aspects of their health.

I am a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. My mission is to connect with clients on a deeper level, addressing not only their physical health, but also their mental, emotional and spiritual health. By using a Multidimensional Health approach, I am able to help my clients reach their health goals in various ways and from various angles to ultimately achieve lasting wellness success and happiness.
I knew that with my previous experience as a registered dietitian for 15 years and the joy that I receive in helping being that agent of change in people’s lives, that I wanted to be able to provide support for the other elements of health that are just as important for wellness.
This is how I came to the health coaching space. I found that being an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach aligns with my life purpose. I am no longer that “go to” expert in all things nutrition but rather I have become a guide to help clients to join the dots for themselves in making lasting lifestyle changes on their health journey.
My experience lies in the areas of chronic disease, weight loss, diabetes, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, IBS and gut health, Women’s Health including endometriosis and PCOS.
I opened my registered dietitian private practice in 2006 in Johannesburg, South Africa, working in the areas of chronic diseases of lifestyle, insulin resistance, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), corporate wellness, and took an interest in women’s health with a special interest in endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCO), and kidney disease.
As a registered dietitian, I brought my passion for nutrition to the public through nutrition talks and workshops, on-site individual consultations, executive nutrition assessments as part of executive medicals, wellness days, cooking demos, and DNA-based personalized diet and exercise programs, including personalized recommendations for dietary modification and the type and amount of exercise required to lose weight (utilizing the DNA Diet genetic screening product).
I incorporated functional medicine into my practice utilizing a systems biology approach, treating individuals as holistic beings rather than the sum of their symptoms. I looked to treat the root causes rather than merely looking at symptoms.
I was the National Executive Portfolio holder for Private Practice Dietitians in the Association of Dietetics in South Africa (ADSA) 2009-2011 and the local branch chair lady for the Gauteng South ADSA Branch 2006-2010.
I have written nutrition related articles for Fair Lady, The Beeld, Sunday Times and Finesse Womens Magazine as well as appearing on television programs on SABC News, SABC 3, eTV and DSTV Series Channel. and Radio 2000.
One of the biggest challenges I encountered as a registered dietitian was how to help a patient with changing their mindset from that “dieting” mode which included deprivation, starvation and a strict all or nothing approach, to a healthy balanced way of eating. Helping them realize that most foods can be included in moderation, and feeling energized and satisfied are the best indications of a successful transition.
This common obstacle that the majority of people face, of learning how to make successful behavior changes, I later realized was what was missing from my approach. I no longer wanted to be prescriptive and tell patients WHAT to eat. I knew from experience as a dietitian what I felt was right for them but most people already know what to eat if they listen to their bodies. Most people already use Dr. Google to look up different diets and nutritional information. There is a huge amount of information out there. We are overwhelmed by it wherever we look.
I realized two things:
1. People don’t trust themselves
2. People don’t listen to their bodies
We do not need more information, we need transformation.
My mission is to help my clients see that the path to change is progress, not perfection.
